Sipping & Cyanotypes

Sipping & Cyanotypes

Cyanotype is a photographic printing process that produces a cyan-blue print. Through the use of transparent materials, a photogram approach, and sun exposure, the treated paper will hold a fixed image. Guided by Buffalo artist and educator Laura Minor, this workshop will be a creative way to enjoy a bit of day drinking while engaging in this photographic process.

Fun in the sun includes:

  • 2 single-serve bottles of wine or 1 16 oz can of Art Ale
  • 1 bottle of water
  • 1.5 hours of cyanotype creation (two 11 x 14 inch cyanotypes on treated watercolor paper).

Cyanotypes require sun, in the event that the sun is not available - this will become a printmaking workshop using ink.

Sessions are available:

July 6  1-2:30PM

July 6  3-4:30PM

July 12  1-2:30PM

July 12  3-4:30PM

Wearing old/dark clothing is recommended. We promise, you may have art materials on you when you leave. Please dress with that in mind or bring an apron to wear.

This is a moderate activity level (we will be engaging in light walking). Please wear sneakers or shoes with backs.

Please watch for an email from Artpark with details of the event at the end of June and plan to arrive 10 minutes early.
