Overview of Position: This seasonal part-time role collaborates to develop, prepare, assist, and lead arts-based workshops during Artpark’s K-12 educational and family programs such as Wonder Wednesdays, Artcamp, Artpark’s Fairy House Festival, and Artpark Engages. The AWA helps implement a creative, mission-driven strategy that values authentic experiences, positioning Artpark as a vibrant center for self-discovery, dialogue, and learning. Reporting to Artpark’s Director of Education & Interpretation, the AWA works closely with education staff, teaching artists, professional artists, curatorial staff, volunteers, New York State Parks (especially its interpretive department), and community partners.
Responsibilities: Engage in all phases of arts-based workshops, including communication with school-aged participants, content development, workshop space and material preparation, and teaching arts-based practices. Work closely with the Director of Education & Interpretation to ensure deliverables align with Artpark’s mission and strategic plan. Collaborate to generate innovative approaches to community engagement. Assist with material and workshop space preparation, including outdoor physical labor such as gardening, artwork installation, maintaining pottery equipment, and transporting supplies. Help manage interpretation and interaction through engagement with teaching artists, educational guides, and docents per Artpark’s budget and timeline.

Salary: This is an at-will part-time seasonal position at $17 per hour, approximately 40 hours per week.
