Artpark Fairy House Festival 2024

Fairies are everywhere, but rarely seen by us. They’re a hidden folk. But on special occasions, they appear to humans to celebrate life, happiness, nature and dance. The Fairy House Festival at Lewiston’s Artpark is one of these occasions. Fairies visit the park, sharing their dance magic with children and adults alike. This year, however, is particularly special…Normally, Artpark is visited by Elemental Fairies; Sprites and kindly spirits of water, air, earth, and fire. They are attracted to the beautiful natural setting of the park, its creative atmosphere, and last, but not least, the Fairy Houses made by people as offerings to commemorate their arrival.  This year, using a particular network of tree portals and fairy doors, a clan of dance fairies have traveled from a distant realm.  This realm is trapped in time full of a myriad of fashion, song and dance from the 1980s. These '80s Dance Fairies bring bright colors wherever they go and share them with all. They revel in spritely play using dance magic to delight and deliver hope to the world.  Sadly, they have lost their pets and their keys to get back through the fairy doors to their own realm.   Will you help the fairies find them? All are invited to join in the revelry of the Fairy House Festival, and welcome the fairies back to Artpark in a flurry of dance magic!

Enjoy the enchanting and wondrous 14th annual Artpark Fairy House Festival this Saturday, July 13 in the Lower Park from 11AM - 3PM!

This year's festival features: Jon Lehrer Dance Company, Kim Vincent Dance , Artpark Bridges, Aerialist Erica Cope, The Fanfare Fairies and their Queen, Installations by Jesse Walp and more with Fairy Houses by local artists.
