Position: Marketing Associate

Artpark & Company is seeking a Marketing Associate who can assist in the planning and implementation of its marketing, communication and advertising activities. The ideal candidate should demonstrate proficiency in marketing and communications skills and best practices and have an affinity for the performing and visual arts as Artpark continues to grow its programming and operations. Familiarity with the Western New York and Southern Ontario markets is also a plus.

This position is full-time, year round, and reports directly to the Vice President of Concerts & Marketing and will interact with the Artpark staff, freelancers, Board, vendors, media, artist representatives, and volunteers.


Primary responsibilities:

  • Create and manage website content
  • Submit and manage event listings on local, regional and national calendars
  • Create engaging promotional and informational mass email communications and manage email database
  • Compose press releases and other content as directed
  • Oversee production of season brochure(s) and other promotional materials
  • Plan and post content to social media platforms and monitor accounts
  • Interact with artist representatives and media to arrange approvals for press tickets and/or photo passes to cover events
  • Compile and maintain seasonal press archive
  • Manage image and video archive
  • Research media and community engagement opportunities
  • Assist with coordination, distribution and maintenance of marketing materials throughout Artpark and in the community
  • Provide customer service for Artpark’s various constituents and audiences
  • Compile audience research and prepare reports as directed


Qualifications:

  • At least three years of work experience in the marketing / communications field. Experience with nonprofit and/or performing and visual arts organizations preferred.
  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related field


Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to manage multiple projects, remain organized and adhere to deadlines, and remain adaptable in a quickly changing environment.
  • Ability to function effectively within a team and assist other departments if/when needed.
  • Good knowledge of the Western New York & Southern Ontario market
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in MS Office, Adobe Creative Suite, social media platforms, digital and email marketing, analytics, website design and/or CMS
  • Basic photo / video editing and graphic design capability
  • Ability/willingness to work evenings and weekends, primarily during the summer months
  • Access to reliable personal transportation
  • Personal interest in the performing and visual arts field
