Artpark Theatre Academy

July 9 - August 5, 2018

Students will have the opportunity to immerse themselves into their own theatre community for 4 weeks this summer at Artpark (M-F 9am-4pm) concluding with two Mainstage Theater performances on August 4 & 5. Show title and info TBA!

Students will gain experience in Musical Theatre arts through a rigorous and exhilarating daily schedule of activities co-directed by Paschal Frisina III and Toni Dentico, featuring instruction by theatre professional counselors and guest artists. Artpark Theatre Academy will provide students a first-hand taste of the professional theatre business and performing at a professional venue. Along with preparing for the production, camp days will be also filled with workshops in acting, dancing, vocals, set design, lighting design, costumes, and promotions.


Participation in the Academy is suitable for children ages 10-18, all levels of experience are accepted. 

Academy hours & location: July 9-August 4 Monday-Friday 9am-4pm, Artpark Mainstage Theater (450 South 4th Street, Lewiston NY 14092) with performance dates August 4 & 5.

Theatre academy staff & Guest Artists


Paschal Frisina III (Academy Co-Director) Paschal has over 25+ years' experience in Theater Arts as an actor, director, and teacher. He has earned a Master's degree in Education, with NYS certifications in Theater Arts and Social Studies, and also a Master's degree in Business Arts Management in 2013. As a director/teacher, he is in his 10th year as Director of the Theater Arts program at St. Joseph Collegiate Institute in Buffalo, NY. He also teaches public speaking, history of theater, and is a guest director as an adjunct professor at Niagara Community College. As a performer, Paschal has been involved in over 100 professional productions. Favorites include: European Tour of JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR as Peter/Annas, the US National Tour of COPACABANA as Rico Castilli, five production contracts on cruise lines, Off-Broadway production of BECOMING SOMETHING: CANADA LEE, and a Broadway workshop of a musical, CAIRO, directed by the brilliant Baayork Lee. Paschal has also been involved in over 20 productions at Artpark in the past, and was their theater camp director from 2011-2015. He is excited to be rejoining Artpark in 2017 with their new summer program as the Theatre Academy Director. Other previous professional acting/directing credits include: FUNNY GIRL, MUSIC MAN, JOSEPH, GUYS AND DOLLS, A FEW GOOD MEN, BUDDY-THE MUSICAL, ALTAR BOYZ, BROOKLYN BOY, CINDERELLA, GREASE, CHESS, FOREVER PLAID(x3), KING AND I, THE MERRY WIDOW, MAN OF LA MANCHA(x2), SHOW BOAT, BUS STOP, TOMMY, OVER HERE, BLOOD BROTHERS, ROMEO AND JUILET, SECRET GARDEN, MARY POPPINS, PIPPIN(x2), and STEEL PIER(supervised personally by John Kander and Fred Ebb).


Toni Dentico (Academy Co-Director, Choreographer) trained at the David De Marie Dance Studio where she studied jazz, tap and ballet for 17 years. While a student of his, she was awarded the title of Miss Junior Dance of WNY, Miss Dance of WNY and Miss Dance of America. She was a member of his core group of dancers that performed here at Artpark, Kleinhan’s and the M and T Plaza and won many competitions regionally and nationally. During her reign as Miss Dance of America she taught and performed all over the US, and was able to model and dance in Osaka, Japan.  She attended University of NY at Buffalo where she minored in dance. Toni has spent the last six summers working at Artpark as choreographer of their summer program and the last four summers with Musicalfare’s summer program. She spent ten years as choreographer at the Academy of Theatre Arts in Williamsville, where she had choreographed over a dozen shows. She has spent the last seven years as the music department’s choreographer at St. Joseph’s Collegiate Institute.  It is her great joy to share her passion for the arts with so many wonderful people!
