Morning workshops:
Ceramics: Discover various hand building techniques with Hilary McAndrew, such as coil and slab, using clay as a medium. Campers will throw pottery on the wheel, build vessels, experience a kiln firing, and much more. Each day will be an educational and fun way to create, build and get messy.
Drawing and Painting: Campers will explore traditional as well as experimental forms of mark making. Inspiration will be drawn from Fine Art as young artists create their own individual artworks. Free expression and creative process mark the imaginative experience in this morning workshop.
Afternoon workshops:
Site Specific Installation: Inspired by the artwork of Claes Oldenburg, young artists will have the opportunity to construct large food items to install throughout Artpark. Artists will lead this workshop in site-specific installation and photo documentation.
Mosaics: Through the careful arrangement of mirror, glass, and ceramic pieces, beautiful hangable mosaic artworks will be constructed.
Plaster Dragon Eggs: Campers will explore plaster as process and material for creating decorative dragon egg sculptures.
Sculpture: Using engineering skills and abstract painting methods, young artists will construct free-standing architectural sculptures.
