Anopas is the brainchild of Soria Rem and Mehdi Ouchek, who formed Art Move Concept in 2009. Their French dance company has garnered a lot of praise over the years through their focus on combining hip-hop rooted movement with the fluidity of modern dance. Anopas is the culmination of years of work perfecting that style with a program that is both a tribute to artists and an exploration of their tribulations. Through dance, acrobatics, and some Buster Keaton inspired whit, this performance examines Soria and Mehdi’s journey as artists. It is at once a demonstration of cutting-edge modern dance that has given their studio prominence and an exploration of the doubts and fears that had to be overcome to find their current success.
