Artpark Reviews 2010 Season and Welcomes 4 New Directors

Annual Meeting Re-elects Christopher Brown as Board Chairman

(Lewiston, NY)  The Artpark & Company Annual Meeting was held Wednesday October 27 at the Niagara Falls Country Club to confirm the re-election of Officers and new Directors to the Board. The not-for-profit organization, established in 1980, was directly responsible for the record-breaking attendance of more than 300,000 patrons at scheduled events during May-August of 2010.

Christopher H. Brown of Niagara Falls' Brown & Company LLP was re-elected for a fourth season as chairman of the Artpark & Company Board of Directors. Under his first three years as Chairman of the Artpark Board, Artpark has experienced the continued rise in visitor attendance and Brown has been praised for his determination to pursue a new amphitheater facility and family programming center for the park. Artpark President George Osborne said, "No matter what the obstacle, Chris has refused to be diverted from his goal of making this project happen, and I support his effort 100%."

Artpark & Company, a non profit cultural arts and education organization working in a licensed agreement with the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation, has accomplished impressive improvements to the Mainstage Theater including new concrete steps with handrails and removal of old rotted timbers in the seating lawn.  The Outdoor Amphitheater has experienced expanded sky box seating and now offers a wider variety of food vendors for the many thousands fans enjoying the Tuesday and Wednesday free concerts each week.

"In 2010, Artpark was a winner thanks to great effort by our staff, our Board, our volunteers, the State Park's leadership and staff, the Park Police, the Lewiston Police, the Town of Lewiston Board and Supervisor, the Village of Lewiston Board & Mayor, all of our sponsors, and most of all the 300,000 patrons that attended Artpark events," said Artpark President George Osborne.

At Wednesday's annual meeting the Board welcomed Mr. John Camp of HSBC Bank USA and re-elected Regional Waste Solutions President Ray Walter as vice chairs of Artpark & Company, Inc.  Artpark Board secretary Vincent Agnello, Esq. of Niagara University will retain his duties, and Brian Geary, senior investment consultant at Courier Capital Corporation, remains Board treasurer.

Directors re-elected for three-year terms include Vincent Agnello, Paul Cannon, Brian Geary, Michele O. Heffernan, Vincent Laurendi, Jr., Janice L. McCaw, Carl J. Montante, Jr., and Lorie Washuta.

Advisory Board members elected to one-year terms include Thomas E. Brydges, Esq., Thomas B. Burrows, Daniel E. Cantara III, John Ceretto, Village of Lewiston Mayor Terry Collesano, Francine DelMonte, Thomas Fatta, Pamela Jacobs-Vogt, Seymour Knox IV, George Maziarz, Rhodes C. Palmer, Joseph Pillittere, and Lewiston Town Supervisor Steve Reiter.

Nominating Committee Chairman Michele O. Heffernan, Esq. also announced the appointment of four new directors for 2010-2011. Newly elected to the Artpark & Company Board of Directors are Charles R. Aronica of Key Investment Services, Carmen Cipolla of Time Warner Cable, Bridget Griffin Russo of The Catholic Health System, and Ronald Winkley, Town of Lewiston Trustee.

Program planning for the 2011 Artpark season is underway and will be announced in May.
