Construction Work on Artpark Mainstage Theater Underway
Newly renovated theater opens May 20
(Lewiston, NY) If you happen to have tickets for the Alice Cooper and Rob Zombie concert on May 22, when you arrive you will find a completely rebuilt lawn area. All of the old, rotted wooden steps and landing areas are being removed and replaced with new concrete steps, railings and new grass in the areas where there previously existed rotted timbers. Facing the possibility of having to close the lawn for safety reasons, funding was set aside a few years ago to upgrade the lawn and replace the stairways and railings.
George Osborne, Artpark President remarked "This is one of many projects that have either been completed or are on the schedule to improve safety conditions at Artpark's Mainstage Theater and to enhance the experience of our patrons. It is exciting to be a part of this rejuvenation of the building. Over the past two years, we have replaced all of the interior drapes, replaced the stage floor, installed a new roof, and completely repainted the interior. It's beginning to look like a new theater."
Artpark's newly renovated theater officially opens on May 20 with two performances of "How the Elephant Got His Trunk" at 10 and 11:30 AM. Tickets are still available for the Children's Theater event, at only $6 a seat. Alice Cooper and Rob Zombie tickets are $78.50 for pit seating, $43.50 for indoor reserved seating, and $33.50 general admission lawn. For more information or to purchase tickets please visit http://www.artpark.net/ , www.tickets.com or call the Artpark Box Office at 716-754-4375 or 1-800-223-6000.
The Earl W. Brydges Artpark is being operated by Artpark and Company, Inc. for the NYS Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation under a license agreement.
