Artpark Gallery Set To Open July 12!

Buffalo Society of Artists to Display Works Throughout Summer!

Wed, Jul 2nd 2008 03:30 pm
(Lewiston, NY) Artpark and the Buffalo Society of Artists have joined forces for the third consecutive summer to present the 2008 Buffalo Society of Artists Gallery at Artpark.  The Gallery, located adjacent to Artpark's Mainstage Theater in its former gallery store, will open beginning one hour prior to - and remain accessible throughout - most of Artpark's theater performances, beginning with the July 12 Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra concert.  Entrance to the gallery is free and does not require a ticket to that evening's performance.

Pre-concert talks with musicians and artists will take place in the Gallery prior to each BPO event, providing for a wonderful meld of music and art.

Art selected for the 2008 Season includes oil paintings, watercolors, collage, photography, mixed media and sculpture. Artworks range in size from small, intimate pieces to large, dominant works, and are appropriate for both the home and for corporate or business display.  All works are available for purchase.

The Buffalo Society of Artists is a 117-year-old artists' society, the oldest art society in Western New York and one of the oldest in the United States.  Over its long history, Society membership has included such world famous artists as Charles Burchfield, Alexis Fournier and Charles Cary Rumsey.
