In honor of Independence Day, the July 8 event at Artpark will have a special 6pm start time featuring an Air Force color guard, the singing of the national anthem and a C-130 airplane flyover. The Niagara Falls Air Force Base has worked in conjunction with Artpark to provide this special commemorative event opening to thank the community for their support of the Base, our guard, and reservists.
All of Artpark's free concert events also include hands-on art workshops for children.
Opening the show are national recording artists The Winters Brothers.
Kansas was formed in 1974, and the Topeka natives gained worldwide fame from their million-selling singles "Dust in the Wind" and "Carry On Wayward Son." The band has been credited with eight gold albums, three sextuple-platinum albums and a platinum live album.
"Carry On Wayward Son," the group's 1976 RIAA gold Top 10 singles chart debut, received the ultimate accolade in today's competitive PlayStation universe when it was inducted into the track list of the enormously popular video game "Guitar Hero II," which has sold more than 3 million copies to date.

Like all of Artpark's free concert events, each evening includes a wide variety of free family-friendly hands-on art workshops, including drawing, face-painting, dress-up, self portraits and more.

Artpark's Outdoor Amphitheater opens to the public at 2pm on event nights, and can be accessed via the Upper Park's Portage Road entrance off of Center Street or through South 4th Street nearest the Mainstage Theater.
Carry-ins (food and beverages) are prohibited at all of Artpark's free concert events while on-site parking is .
