In Artpark's first 23 years, New York State heavily subsidized all park happenings. These subsidies enabled Artpark to create visual and performing arts programs whose scope was broad and innovative. It also allowed Artpark to present or produce acclaimed performances in its theater. As time marched on in the late eighties and throughout the nineties, the subsidies diminished, eventually equaling ten percent of what they were, in today's dollars.
In 1997, planning and execution of Artpark's programs and operations was transferred to the non-profit corporation Artpark & Company, Inc., with the responsibility for maintaining the buildings and grounds remaining with the State.
Artpark continues to receive committed support from the state's Western New York Delegation and the Office of Parks, Recreation and Historical Preservation. It receives financial support from both, as well as from various corporations, foundations and individual contributors.
Artpark's wide variety of summertime programs provide the opportunity for visitors of all ages to share in new experiences in both the visual and performing arts and, by doing so, enrich their lives individually and collectively. As Artpark & Company, Inc. continually strives to make more of these activities available, it is imperative that our corporate and individual donor base continues to grow.
Please consider furthering the development of Artpark with your thoughtful contribution.
