BPO Big Band SHOW

The Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra and Western New York's own "King of the Clarinet," Sal Andolina, assemble the biggest Big Band the Artpark stage has ever seen for the much anticipated BPO Big Band Show. Conducted by Matthew Kraemer, the show will pay homage to the virtuosos of the Big Band era.
Performing the original music of Benny Goodman, Artie Shaw, Louis Armstong, Duke Ellington and Tommy Dorsey, the BPO Big Band consists of a full sax and brass section surrounded by the winds and strings of the orchestra. The ensemble will also feature Sal Andolina on clarinet, Dave Mancini on drums, Colleen Williams on vocals, and a tap dance team. Happy, lively and uplifting, the BPO Big Band Show will be not only be full of the classics such as "Sing Sing Sing," "Moonglow," "Stardust," "Don't Be That Way" heard in their original settings, there are also wonderful new arrangements of American Standards.
Don't forget about Artpark's parquet dance floor, located inside the Mainstage Theater in front of the stage. If you like to dance, this is the summer concert you won't want to miss!
